Abstract:As an important carrier for urban spatial expansion, reclamation coastal areas generally face complex engineering geological issues such as deep soft soil, high water content, significant foundation settlement, and soil salinization, which severely restrict the stability of green spaces, the exertion of ecological functions, and the normal growth of plants. Taking the Miaoyong and its surrounding environmental engineering projects in Dongguan Binhaiwan New Area as examples, a site engineering geological investigation and analysis were conducted, systematically revealing the typical geological characteristics and core construction difficulties of the reclamation area. In response to the varying requirements of different site conditions, a graded soft foundation treatment strategy is proposed: pile foundations with structural adaptation for building and structural areas; composite foundations for roadways and large plazas, shallow replacement for garden paths and small plazas. This strategy aims to achieve a balance between cost control and construction timelines.
