Abstract:As the conservation of traditional village architectural heritage shifts its focus from material repair to cultural revitalization, cultural display has become an important medium linking heritage space with public understanding. Taking Nanshe Ancient Village in Dongguan as a case study, this paper evaluates its current heritage display in terms of display content, display mode and visitor experience through cultural gene analysis, behavioral observation and questionnaire survey. The study finds that the current display of Nanshe Ancient Village has problems such as imbalanced cultural gene configuration, insufficient interpretation of display texts, monotonous display media, and weak route guidance in visitor experience. Based on these findings, this paper proposes a revitalization path centered on cultural content reorganization, layered media configuration, route guidance, and node organization optimization, aiming to improve the legibility, continuity and public understanding of cultural display in traditional villages.
