Abstract:With the transformation of the social economic structure and the intensification ofcompetition in higher education, college students are facing a mental health crisis undermulti-dimensional pressure. As an effective medium for students to recover from stressand regulate their emotions, campus greenways deserve in-depth exploration. Taking thegreenways in Guangzhou University Town as the research field, four indicators, namelytree species, leaf color parameters, canopy density and road curvature, were selected. 25virtual scenes were constructed using VR technology for experiments, and the physiologicalindicators (blood pressure, pulse and skin temperature) and psychological indicators ofcollege students were measured to explore the therapeutic benefits of campus greenwaysbased on virtual reality for stress recovery among college students. The results show thata virtual reality-based campus greenway environment can effectively alleviate negativeemotions and promote positive emotions. Color and road curvature have a significantimpact on stress recovery. When the leaf color of plants is yellow and the road curvature is135° , the environmental restorative benefits of the greenway are the best.
