Abstract:In recent years, the study of green space distribution patterns has gradually become akey area of focus in biodiversity conservation and green space planning amidst the rapidexpansion of urbanization. This paper keeps up with the forefront of the discipline, takingthe urban area of Pu'er City as the research subject. Based on Sentinel-2 remote sensingimage data with a spatial resolution of 10 meters, it utilizes the pixel dichotomy modeland normalized difference vegetation index to calculate vegetation coverage and interpretthe distribution pattern of green spaces across the entire region. The results indicate thatgreen spaces in Pu'er City account for 61.93% of the total land area, and overall, the qualityof green spaces is good, with a dense and extensive distribution. However, there are alsoecological issues arising from urbanization expansion, especially in Simao District andMojiang Hani Autonomous County, which are severely impacted by human interference, resulting in fragmented green space distribution and posing a certain threat to biodiversity. In the next step, measures such as constructing pocket parks and ecological corridors canbe taken to increase the living space and migration pathways for flora and fauna.
