Abstract:Under the concept of Park City, the value of urban park renewal in old town has shifted from simple material renewal to connotative development. The renewal and utilization of urban parks in the old town can, on the one hand, revitalize the stock space of the parks and stimulate the revitalization of old parks, and on the other hand, promote the integration of old parks into the renewal and development of park cities as a supplement and optimization of regional public service functions. Based on a summary of relevant theories and practices at home and abroad, three renewal strategies, namely boundary connectivity, integrated penetration, and intelligent empowerment, are proposed for the renewal of old urban parks. Taking Guangzhou's urban parks in the old town as an example, the "park plus" model is used to empower and transform the inefficient stock space of the park into a "people-oriented" multi-functional space, thereby achieving park quality and efficiency improvement.
