Abstract:Gangtou Village in Huadu District of Guangzhou is a traditional settlement with typical Guangfu cultural characteristics and Lingnan waterside landscape characteristics. Using the theory of "the cultural and regional disposition" of architectural aesthetics, this research is carried out from the aspects of location pattern, environmental pattern, architectural form and decoration skills of Gangtou Village. It is found that in terms of regional and technical quality, it presents geographical adaptability of surrounded by mountains and rivers, climate adaptability of ventilation and cooling, and materials adaptability of local material application. In terms of social spirit of the times, it presents the traditional clan concept of respecting the ancestors and seeking stability, the modern blending concept of Chinese and Western, and the contemporary inheritance concept of cultural continuity. In terms of the human and art’s character, it is shown as the aesthetic ideal of the harmony between human and nature, the value orientation of advocating literature and emphasizing education, and the aesthetic taste of secular application.
