Abstract:As an important birthplace of Lingnan culture, the development of chrysanthemum art in Guangzhou has a long history and unique regional characteristics. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, the chrysanthemum modeling technique in Guangzhou has developed rapidly, and reached its peak in the 1980s and 1990s, presenting these chrysanthemum techniques with Lingnan regional characteristics to the world. However, with the change of modern lifestyle, the impact of fashion culture and the implantation of foreign culture, the “chrysanthemum appreciation tradition” is gradually declining. At the same time, the transformation and restructuring of social enterprises, the promotion of the socialized management mode of parks and the retirement of the old generation of chrysanthemum art craftsmen have caused the inheritance of chrysanthemum art in Guangzhou to fall into the dilemma of no successor, and it is urgent to adopt the strategy of active protection for the inheritance of chrysanthemum art.
