Abstract:Taking the design of Wuyuan River Bee-eater Reserve in Haikou as an example, based on a fully study of site conditions and the biological and ecological characteristics of bee-eaters, combining a survey of species and habitat of bee-eaters, the design exploration of ecological restoration, habitat quality, landscape construction and natural education are carried out, and three strategies including ecological protection, habitat restoration and natural education are put forward. Through combing current water system, improving current habitat, rearranging nesting sites, perfecting natural education facilities, and strengthening community management, the sustainable development of reserve can be realized, creating a home for bee-eaters to meet their survival needs such as reproduction, nesting and foraging, and providing citizens with a good natural education experience.
