Abstract:The site of Chen Lianbo Residence was built in 1919 which was a typical western-style garden in Guangzhou in the modern times. Affected by historical events and changes in property rights over the past century, the building has been rebuilt and added several times, and the original appearance of the garden no longer exists. The site of Chen Lianbo Residence’s garden was studied by means of remains investigation, document research and three-dimensional scene reconstruction of historical images. By determining its spatial boundary, extracting effective historical information such as garden style, road structure and scale and location of important structures, inferring the three-dimensional model of the reconstructed garden, and making superposition comparison with historical images, a western-style garden with clear spatial boundaries and regular planar structure can be restored more accurately.
